Overview

  Since 1958, Child Development Center of the Bluegrass has been providing exceptional early childhood and preschool services to children in the Bluegrass region of Kentucky. Today, we offer high quality, full day care for children beginning at 6 weeks of age through their pre-kindergarten year. Our robust, child-focused programming is predicated on decades of research that shows that children thrive in environments that are play-based, language rich, and relationship focused. Our classrooms allow children to explore, make decisions, build friendships, and construct their own knowledge, all while having fun! In addition, our teachers know what pre-academic skills children need to gain prior to kindergarten entry and they carefully weave curriculum that allows our students to learn and use these skills in meaningful ways. Our classrooms are joyful places to grow!

Child Development Centers of the Bluegrass provides full day, full week childcare  and preschool to 173 children, both with and without special needs, on the University of Kentucky Campus. We share our building with UK Pediatric Therapy which offers outpatient OT, PT and Speech services to children in the Lexington area.
